Although the ukulele came from Portugal, it became popular and took its name in Hawaii. In this 90-minute lesson, Fred introduces you to hawaii's best-known hapa-haoli standards, some dating back to the '20s, others more recendian than the '60s. Mostly written by Tin Pan Alley composers who inserted some Hawaiian words and phrases, these songs are still strummed by ukulelists today. Fred teaches each song beautiful arrangements and shows you how to play a simple accompaniment. Fred makes learning easy, with split-screen, slow-down versions of songs, and helpful tips on licks and picking styles. All songs are written in tablature and music notation in the PDF file that comes with the lesson. Titles include: Blue Hawaii, Little Brown Gal, Ukulele Lady, On the Beach at Waikiki, Pearly Shells, Tiny Bubbles and I Wonder Where My Little Hula Girl Has Gone.
